How does Beconase Nasal Spray work?
Beconase Nasal Spray contains beclometasone dipropionate, a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation in your nasal passages. By diminishing irritation and swelling, it effectively soothes sneezing, itching, and nasal congestion, facilitating easier breathing.
Can I use Beconase with other medications?
Before using Beconase Nasal Spray alongside other medications, including over-the-counter products, consult with your doctor or pharmacist. This is particularly important if you’re taking other corticosteroids or medications for HIV, such as ritonavir and cobicistat.
Is it safe to combine Beconase with other hayfever treatments?
While it may be possible to use Beconase Nasal Spray with other hayfever treatments like antihistamine tablets or eye drops, only do so under medical advice. Mixing medications without guidance could be unsafe.
Can I use Beconase during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Consult a healthcare professional before using Beconase Nasal Spray if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding. A medical expert can recommend safe treatment options during these sensitive times.
How to use Beconase Nasal Spray
Shake the bottle well before use. After removing the dust cap, insert the nozzle into one nostril, closing the other with your finger. Inhale through your nose while pressing down on the pump to release a spray. Clean the nozzle with a tissue and replace the cap after use.
What’s the recommended dosage?
The standard dose is two sprays into each nostril twice daily, morning and evening, not exceeding eight sprays per day. It might take 2-3 days for the spray to reach its full effect. If symptoms persist after 7 days of use, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
When should Beconase not be used?
Beconase Nasal Spray is not suitable for children under 18 or those allergic to beclometasone dipropionate or other ingredients. Avoid use if you have nasal infections, ulcers, recent nasal surgery, or injuries.
